FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CEB Launches New LibGuide and Legal Research Curriculum to Empower the Next Generation of California Lawyers

Collaboratively developed with California law librarians, faculty, and attorneys, the new resources bring authoritative, practice-ready legal research into law school classrooms and libraries statewide

OAKLAND, Calif. (December 17, 2025) – Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB), California’s most trusted provider of legal research and education, today announced the launch of two new academic resources designed to strengthen California-specific legal research instruction: the CEB LibGuide and the CEB Legal Research Curriculum.

Developed in collaboration with law librarians, legal research faculty, and California-barred attorneys, these complementary tools make it easier than ever for law schools to provide students with practical, real-world research skills grounded in authoritative California law.

The CEB LibGuide is a free, pre-built guide hosted on Springshare that integrates seamlessly into existing law library platforms. With no setup or cost required, the LibGuide offers step-by-step guidance for accessing and using CEB’s trusted resources, including primary law, secondary sources, workflows, how-to guides, strategy notes, sample documents, charts & checklists, andNews. Full instructions for integration are available directly on the website.

The CEB Legal Research Curriculum is a modular, instructor-ready program designed for first-year or advanced legal research courses. Created in part by CEB’s team of California-barred attorneys, the curriculum includes structured lessons, PowerPoint decks, instructor guides, and practice problems aligned to real-world legal workflows. Each module is built for seamless integration into existing syllabi..

While artificial intelligence tools can assist with research and summarization, CEB remains the definitive authority on California law because every piece of content is conceived, written, and reviewed by experienced California practitioners. CEB’s editors and authors do more than restate the law – they interpret it, apply it, and anticipate its real-world implications. AI can complement legal research, but it cannot replace the professional judgment, contextual understanding, and ethical reliability embedded in CEB’s human-crafted resources. For this reason, California’s attorneys, judges, and legal educators continue to rely on CEB as the trusted source for authoritative legal insight.

Law schools can explore the LibGuide immediately and request access to the full Legal Research Curriculum, including sample materials and integration guidance.
