Senior Accountant

This position is located in Oakland, CA

We are in need of a Senior Accountant to join our fast-growing team.

The role is primarily remote

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for general ledger accounting for the organization. This role will prepare financial reports, perform reconciliations, and be actively involved with month end and year end close activities. The Senior Accountant will be expected to take ownership of accounting functions, make suggestions for improvements, implement improvements in partnership with Accounting Manager, and develop communication plans for informing the organization. Must be detail-oriented, possess exceptional problem solving and analytical skills. The senior accountant should understand the purpose behind the transactions and be able to explain policies to non-finance staff.


  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated general accounting experience, typically seven (7) years minimum.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial transactions and systems, related policy, accounting, and regulatory compliance requirements. Demonstrated, thorough MS Excel skills.
  • Technically savvy and comfortable learning new systems.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work independently and under pressure.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting function and assignments.
