Delivery & Execution
Create a scalable product implementation and post-execution plan based on CEB’s and the product’s strategic vision and strategies. (E)
Work collaborative with Engineering, Content Operations, Finance, and other internal/external partner teams to develop, assess, and prioritize product features. (E)
Drive product lifecycle from requirement definitions, research, metrics analysis, technical specifications, development, testing, KPIs and other launch efforts. (E)
Responsible for the operational cadence and related product team meetings to ensure a successful launch and post-launch experience. (E)
Manage the product backlog and prioritization of work based on customer facing solutions, ROI, “must have,” and “nice to haves” with the appropriate sense of urgency and consideration. (E)
Document and manage all quality and change control standards to ensure delivery of product in alignment with strategic, financial, and technical goals. (E)
Provide regular updates to leadership and key stakeholders via product and portfolio reviews, including product status, prioritization, roadmap, and risks/issues. (E)
Strategy & Planning
Define product vision based on CEB’s vision and Objectives & Key Results (OKRs), including turning customer insights into actionable deliverables. (E)
Build cross functional working relationship and effectively influence all levels of stakeholders. (E)
Seek opportunities to streamline work across teams and reduce product, tech or other resource dependencies. (E)
Identify metrics and/or key performance indicators to measure product performance and customer satisfaction. (E)
Apply knowledge of the legal industry, markets, and trends to inform product pipeline and priority decisions. (E)
Develop the product strategy based on the customer needs, market research, and CEB’s long term vision. Launch a scalable implementation plan and develop a high-level roadmap. (E)
People management:
For Talent Planning and Department Operational Structure.
Authorizes recruitment and participates in the hiring process, as needed.
Ensures staff are trained for their role, providing coaching and feedback.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Manages discipline and termination of employees in accordance with UCLA/UC policy.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Competencies
REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Legal Studies, or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum of 6+ years relevant product management experience, including product development and execution.
Experience launching a successful new product into the e-commerce business.
Experience building and leading teams of two or more.
Expertise in modern software development product management practices and agile methodologies, including Salesforce and other comparable CRMs.
Demonstrated ability to transform user and business needs into actionable product requirements (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria, etc.).
Experience working with or managing design, research, engineering and/or vendor teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues or technology to stakeholders.
Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a highly collaborative environment.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills; comfortable with data-driven decision making and ability to use metrics, optimization tests, and customer feedback to inform product planning.
PREFERRED
Experience working in the legal industry or profession.
Experience using AWS/Cloud/SAAS technologies.
Experience in scrum methodologies and working in Agile teams.
Familiarity with content management systems like HubSpot, WordPress, HTML, web design, and web analytics software.
