eCommerce Product Manager

This position is located in Oakland, CA

CEB is currently recruiting an eCommerce product manager who can optimize the performance and user experience of our store, and increase sales of our non-subscription products.

We are looking for an eCommerce Product Manager to oversee the management, development, production, testing, and optimization of CEB’s transactional online store, ensuring a high-quality purchasing & checkout experience for all customers. The eCommerce PM will own ecommerce strategy and will maintain site content and performance. You will work closely with other PMs, Product Marketing Manager, and Digital Marketing Manager to develop store content and marketing campaigns. Qualified candidates will be organized, process driven, and have excellent strategic and prioritization skills. You will like this role if you are comfortable being the driving force behind CEB’s ecommerce experience, can articulate what needs to change and why from the customer’s perspective, and can simultaneously put out fires today while planning for feature development six months down the road. Although CEB is located in Oakland, CA, we are open to remote working.


Job Duties:

  • Manage the day-to-day performance of the ecommerce site, including maintaining content, graphics, and buy-paths
  • Develop a strategically sound and data-supported ecommerce strategy and create short-, medium-, and long-term product roadmaps
  • Manage the product backlog, prioritizing bugs, features, and chores with appropriate urgency and consideration.
  • Continually test, gather, and analyze data, and continuously apply those learnings to improve site performance, including measuring traffic patterns and trends, SEO keyword ROI, bounce rates, impacts of marketing campaigns, and conducting A/B testing on platform’s functionality and user experience
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of the legal industry, as well as the needs and challenges of our customers, through user research, user testing, and extensive market research to create realistic user stories
  • Work with Chief Technology Officer, Director of Finance, and CEB’s development partners to refine CEB’s technology stack and related backoffice systems, evaluating and researching software options and making recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing Manager and Product Marketing Manager to strategize email and other marketing campaigns aimed at increasing revenue of ecommerce & transactional product sales
  • Collaborate with other Product Managers and Product Marketing Manager to create store & campaign content
  • Manage optimal pricing for CEB’s transactional products
  • Analyze key business metrics that are directly related to e-commerce revenue and performance, and get alignment from all key stakeholders
  • Effectively and persuasively communicate ecommerce roadmap strategy to key stakeholders
  • Coordinate between disparate groups at CEB, including engineering, revenue ops, customer success, content operations, sales, marketing, and executive leadership
  • Build training pipeline and create all training materials necessary to communicate ecommerce strategy and train relevant employees on store operations & key changes


Job Requirements

  • 3+ years relevant ecommerce platform experience, in digital product strategy, digital product management, or digital product development
  • BS/BA degree (relevant field such as Business, Engineering, Legal Studies, or similar) or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • MBA or master’s degree preferred (in relevant field e.g., Digital Strategy, Product Management, Technology Leadership, etc.)
  • Proficient with JIRA, Confluence, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to transform user and business needs into actionable product requirements (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria, etc.)
  • Experience working with or managing UX and engineering teams
  • Understanding of product analytics and KPIs/OKRs
  • Good balance of IQ and EQ to be able to solve both technical and social challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; timely communication with clear expectations. An active listener and clear communicator; can lead by influence
