We are looking for an eCommerce Product Manager to oversee the management, development, production, testing, and optimization of CEB's bifurcated purchasing experience (an online bookstore at store.ceb.com and our digital subscription products at store.ceb.com), ensuring a high-quality purchasing & checkout experience for all customers.

The role is mostly remote with the possibility of coming into the office periodically.

We are Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB), providing innovative resources and practice-oriented tools that help attorneys better serve their clients. From online legal research and MCLE to forms solutions and print books, CEB strives to make high-quality legal information accessible to everyone, from rural solo practices to large law firms.

Founded in 1947 CEB is one of California’s oldest and most prestigious legal information and continuing legal education providers. CEB publishes judgments of California case law, practical guidance for attorneys and, CLE all in a variety of practice areas and formats e.g. print, online and, in-person.

Job Summary

The  eCommerce Product Manager will be responsible for continually optimizing buy-paths, updating and implementing SEO strategy, and optimizing ceb.com as a demand gen and lead capture funnel. This role reports into the Director of Product and is expected to work closely with other CEB product managers, product marketing manager, and digital marketing manager to identify opportunities for and execute on email and other marketing campaigns.

We need someone who is a quick learner and has a genuine interest in understanding the complex and overlapping customer segments of the California legal industry. The ideal candidate knows how to optimize for conversion, can analyze website data, can break large projects and problems into manageable, bite-sized pieces, and has a bias for action and outcomes. You will like this role if you are comfortable being the driving force behind CEB’s eCommerce experience, are organized and process driven, and have excellent strategic and prioritization skills. We’re a small team so everyone has to roll up their sleeves and get things done.

Experience/Required

  • 3+ years relevant ecommerce platform experience, website management, digital product strategy, digital product management, or digital product development.
  • BS/BA degree required (relevant field such as Business, Engineering, Legal Studies, or similar) or combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient with Salesforce or other comparable CRMs.
  • Demonstrated ability to transform user and business needs into actionable product requirements (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria, etc.)
  • Experience working with or managing UX and engineering teams.
  • Understanding of product analytics and KPIs/OKRs.
  • Good balance of IQ and EQ to be able to solve both technical and social challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; timely communication with clear expectations. An active listener and clear communicator; can lead by influence.
  • Familiarity with content management systems like HubSpot, WordPress, HTML, web design, and web analytics software.

Experience/Preferred

  • Experience with Agile and SCRUM approach to software/web development.
