CEB Publishes New Legal Resource on Internet Law

Package includes online and print versions of title plus Forms CD

OAKLAND, CALIF.—Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) announces the publication of Internet Law and Practice in California, a brand new title with comprehensive, practice-oriented information on the legal aspects of doing business on the Internet.

Internet Law and Practice in California features in-depth discussions of applicable federal and California statutes, regulations, and case law; more than 50 model form agreements and other documents; and user-friendly practice tips. The authors, Clara Ruyan Martin and David B. Oshinsky, are founding partners of the Los Angeles-based firm Cadence Law Group LLP and specialize in Internet, e-commerce, and technology issues.

Purchase of this new resource includes both online and print versions of the title, plus an accompanying Forms CD with all of the title's model form documents in Word and WordPerfect format. The text has hundreds of hyperlinks to websites and other useful authorities for easy reference.

"This is the only book on Internet law and practice that is designed specifically for use by California lawyers," says Suzanne Weakley, the CEB managing editor responsible for developing the title. "And the text does not presume the reader is a specialist, so it will be an excellent general reference for business lawyers and litigators alike. The model forms are especially valuable, and the links throughout the online version significantly enhance the usefulness of the text."

Internet Law and Practice in California is indispensable for attorneys counseling a wide range of California businesses, from traditional "bricks and mortar" companies, to those developing their own websites, to those doing business exclusively online. Coverage includes intellectual property and infringement issues; domain names and the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute Resolution Policy; website development, website hosting, and technical support; terms of use; electronic contracting; e-commerce transactions and tax issues; software licensing agreements, source code escrows; advertising, FTC issues, and spam; privacy issues and website privacy policies; tort and criminal liability, First Amendment issues; and more.

Internet Law and Practice in California, including online access to the title; 2 looseleaf volumes, approx. 1100 pages; and the companion Forms CD, costs $299. For more information on this or any other CEB products or services, call Customer Service at 1-800-232-3444 or visit us online at ceb.com.
