CEB OFFERS PDA PROGRAM THAT DELIVERS SENTENCING INFORMATION INSTANTLY

OAKLAND, CALIF.—Continuing Education of the Bar • California (CEB) announces an exciting electronic product. Crime-IQ is a new PDA application from CEB that gives you instant access to legal consequences of criminal offenses. Perfect for the courtroom or hearing, it instantly provides the sentencing information defense attorneys, public defendants, prosecutors, and judges need on the consequences of a plea-all in the palm of a hand.

  • Gives access from a single screen to serious felonies, violent and aggravated felonies, immigration issues, registrable offenses, and priorable offenses
  • Select the offense and quickly see the sentencing consequences
  • Provides deadlines for motions, procedures, writs, and appeals at the touch of a button
  • Delivers critical information in a clear, courtroom-friendly format

Crime-IQ was developed by Adrienne Elentery, an Alameda County Public Defender with a background in computer science. After watching countless attorneys struggle to keep track of plea consequences, she created Crime-IQ. Originally marketed by Ms. Elentery, it is now available for purchase through CEB.

  • "... an absolute must for every attorney practicing criminal law in California. It's like a bench book except that it is faster, more compact and easier to use."
    • -Mike A. Nisperos Jr.
Chief Trial Counsel (Ret.), State Bar of CA
  • "... an awesome product that you should seriously consider buying. From the home screen you type in the code section of a substantive crime. You then get an amazing screen with tons of information, all on that one screen."

    • -Al Menaster
Los Angeles County Public Defenders Office, CACJ Forum

Crime-IQ software works with the most popular Palm models and will soon be available in a Windows OS version. (Requirements and compatibility are listed below.)
