CEB Receives International CLE Award
Association for Continuing Legal Education honors CEB for
Internet Law and Practice in California in "Best Publication" Category

OAKLAND, CALIF.—Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) has received a 2005 Award for Professional Excellence from the Association for Continuing Legal Education (ACLEA) for Internet Law and Practice in California. CEB received the award, ACLEA's top honor, in the "Best Publication" category and was one of only 15 of more than 300 entrants from several countries to receive ACLEA awards this year.

"Almost all businesses in California—from well-established "bricks and mortar" companies to start-ups—have or should have an Internet website," says Suzanne Weakley, a CEB publications attorney who spearheaded publication of Internet Law and Practice in California. "This title gives California attorneys a broad, practical, and insightful review of federal and California laws applicable to the development and operation of websites, along with dozens of useful forms, such as privacy policies and terms of use. We are extremely pleased that ACLEA has chosen to recognize this relatively new publication from CEB with an 'ACLEA's Best' award."

The Award for Professional Excellence will formally be presented to CEB by ACLEA President Mary Lynne at ACLEA's annual meeting on July 31st in Washington, D.C.

Written by two California attorneys whose practice focuses on Internet and technology companies, Internet Law and Practice in California provides comprehensive coverage of the latest legal developments and trends in Internet law. Sold as a package that includes a two-volume book, a Forms CD, and electronic access to all the book's contents (including forms and links to the hundreds of websites cited), it covers federal and California state laws and regulations; intellectual property issues; the Digital Millennium Copyright Act; domain names and the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute Resolution Policy; metatags; website development and hosting; technical support, privacy and First Amendment issues; tort and criminal liability issues; international issues; and much more.
