CREDIT FOR PREPARATION, SPEAKING TIME & ATTENDANCE
Credit for preparation and speaking time is based on the length of time a panelist is assigned to speak. If specific times are not assigned, the length of speaking time is determined by dividing the program hours by the number of panelists.
The panelists speaking time is multiplied by four to obtain the amount of credit allowed for preparation and speaking. For the remaining time of the panel, panelists may claim their actual attendancei.e., the time spent listening to other panelists' presentations.
For repeat presentations, panelists may claim credit for their speaking time and the additional time spent listening to the other panelists' presentations. They cannot claim any preparation time for additional sessions.
EXAMPLE (For a 3 hr. program with 3 speakers)
3 hours ÷ by 3 = 1 hour speaking time
First presentation:
1 hour x 4 = 4 hours credit for preparation and speaking
3 hrs - 1 hour = 2 hours credit for attendance
Total Credits: 6 hours
Repeat presentations:
1 hour credit for speaking
2 hours credit for attendance
Total Credits: 3 hours
*SPECIAL RULE FOR MODERATORS
A moderator who either introduces other speakers or performs in an administrative capacity and does not present material having significant current intellectual or practical content for members may claim the same credit hours as attendees.
